Frog Hopping

I want to apologize in advance to my father. I know that this wasn't funny at the time (well, I thought the title moment was funny).

Okay, here goes.

My sister, while in high school, was out with friends and came home... OBVIOUSLY drunk. Like walking into walls drunk. (I think it was H.S. - I can't remember exactly but it was before she was 18). After bouncing off of a couple walls she latched onto the closest still target. Me. So, I proceeded to hold her up as a conversation ensued between her and Dad regarding how she thought it would be a great idea to go to the police department so they could give her a breathalizer because she WAS NOT drunk. Uh huh.

After arguing this point and hearing for the 50th times the words "Your grounded!" I finally got her over to the couch to sit down. The grilling about where she had been began. After several attempts at telling us where she had been, she finally blurted out the ugly truth. She had been frog hopping. Froggie I busted out laughing (for which I got yelled at - but I couldn't help it!). At that point I tried to mediate. I told Dad she wouldn't remember anything he was saying anyway and I should just put her to bed and he could talk to her the next day.

The next morning she woke up, looked at me and said "What happened? All I remember is "you're grounded". When I questioned her about the frog hopping (well, you knew I would!), she had no idea what I was talking about. Talk about disappointment. I was hoping for a demonstration!

Ok, I'll comment, even though I talked to you last night. Still laughing hysterically! Keep 'em coming! :) (ok, sorry Dad, but I do find this particular story funny) I think she should give a demonstration. I'd really like to see it!

And believe it or not, i do believe that i was somewhere with frogs that night. i think we were possibly trying to catch them. And dad, sorry AGAIN! do you see, that even as an adult, i gave myself up again for something that happened 20 years ago! Fortunately for me my daughter appears to be the same way!

Lisa (anonymous), Mary and I were JUST discussing how you still have the knack of busting yourself! And yes, you are incredibly lucky your daughter is the same way! I still say we get a demonstration. Next dinner!!!!! >:P

Ok Lisa(anonymous)I would like to know why a girl who lives on the out skirts of the city goes looking and tries to catch frogs. Where would you even find a frog? Well, with that admission I must say you have made your country cousins proud. If we had known you liked frogs so much we should of had you come out more often and go frog catchin with Daryl and me. (Ribbit, Ribbit)

I am hysterical! You need to have tee shirts made!

Ooohhh tee shirts... great idea!

Debbie, your comment had me cracking up almost as much as remembering the story. I never considered you a country cousin..until I started thinking about the channel and the woods surrounding your house. :)

Mary, you can consider me the rural cousin then. The ones down south would be just as proud. Although I've never known any of them to go frog hoppin. I saw the perfect tshirt today. It had a big sparkly green frog on it. Everytime I see a frog from now on I will think of Lisa. (ribbit) Lisa, your probably saying to yourself "why, oh why did I let Mary tell that story?"
